An Adventure of the Mind

A work of art is above all an adventure of the mind.
~ Eugène Ionesco, playwright

I used to sit and stare at the pictures in storybooks when I was little.  I enjoyed the stories, but it was especially intriguing the way an illustration could take you on a journey, providing an actual glimpse into the story's adventures.  Pictures made stories really come alive; I think that's what sparked my interest in becoming an illustrator myself... Every project is kind of a "choose your own adventure" for me!

Illustration Friday's "Lost" theme reminded me of the Lost City of Atlantis.

This week's Shirt.Woot entry for the "Crests and Heraldry" Derby; Woot members, please vote now!!!

For Shirt.Woot's "Beauty Within" Derby, I went with a Smaug-and-Dwarves design.

Playing around with my new ArtRage Studio Pro program, I did a sketch of Merida from Brave.
