I Believe I Can Fry

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

From hair color to plant life, from pin-up drawings to shirt designs -- I've been doing a lot of experimenting lately.  Of my many experiments, one of the most fun was today's beignet-making session.  My husband and I finally mustered up the nerve, set aside our worries about frying things in boiling oil, and made our very own beignets.  They turned out quite nicely, and now I'm emboldened to branch out and try different beignet recipes!  It was an uplifting success after a series of little setbacks this week.  Yay for little French doughnuts with powdered sugar!

And in other news, here's your latest batch of artz:

  "Mountains", a little enviro sketch.

"Rainforest Frog", a study.
"How'd You Like Them Apples?!", my entry in ShirtWoot's "Eyewitness History" derby.

Various creatures...
"Shnookums", a pin-up sketch.

"Half-Elf Rogue", my entry in ArtOrder's DnD Pin-up Challenge.  For those not familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, a 'rogue' is a sneak-thief-type character.
