Movin' on Up

It was with a fond farewell that we bid adieu to our Old House yesterday afternoon; we'd had lots of good times in that little place.  The house was finally emptied and cleaned, quietly awaiting its next tenant.  And then we went home to the New House and met our new neighbors.  They seem nice, and the New House is a bit nicer than our old place.  We've already had exploits in the New House -- a large dead tree limb fell on our roof (thankfully with little or damage!), and I made rice krispies treats for the first time.  Guess which exploit involved more feats of dexterity and skill.
So, the transition continues, as we sort through belongings and arrange affairs -- but it's official.  We're all moved in, huzzah!  

Some things never change, of course; the art just keeps on comin'!  Enjoy.

Let Them Eat Cake

My husband and I returned yesterday from a wonderful weekend trip Back Home, where we enjoyed fun times, fellowship and food with our loved ones.  The food, in particular, was amazing.  Between restaurants and home-cookin', we indulged in lobster penne in Cajun cream sauce, garlic mozzarella bread, shrimp scampi, hot sub sandwiches, thick juicy steaks, herbed red potatoes, cheesecake with blueberries and several different kinds of ice cream.  I'm afraid to step on the scales, needless to say.  But so worth it!  When we got home, I noticed that Illustration Friday's theme this week is "Dessert" -- a nice little opportunity to sketch my homage to fab food.  Bon appetit!
