Portrait of the Artist as a Young Girl
"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for."
~Georgia O'Keefe
The other day, my mom ran across some old pics of me doing my thing. It's funny how we change as we grow up -- but it's easy to see our present selves in old pictures. I still sit around barefoot, coloring things. I still enjoy doing art stuff. It's good that some things never change.
"Genius at Work" -- I would dearly love a t-shirt like that now! And the sacred three-face-bowl!
"Bluebonnet Girl" -- Always fun having artwork displayed.
"Playdoh" -- ah, the Gumby characters. I think Pokey's white mane and tail are due to a lack of black Playdoh.
In other news, I got to play with colored pencils the other day, and "Fire-Beast" was born.
A sketch for girls who draw on their computers!
